hoenggerberg

Since 2003, ETH Zurich has been continually developing its location on Hönggerberg as a model for universities in the 21st century. Groundbreaking is the vision of an urban, small city district that connects science, the economy and the public in a sustainable manner. This vision received the 2010 European Science Culture Award.

The ETH Zurich, Hoenggerberg is more than a urban design concept or an expansion of the ETH Zurich: the campus understands itself as a place that creates and realizes ideas. Furthermore, it is a model for sustainable planning, integrating all stakeholders. It even is the largest sustainability project of the ETH Zurich.

Realizing the Vision Together

The numerous architectural projects on site could only be realized with the help of generous sponsors. Also in the future ETH Zurich will rely on strong partners from the economy as well as private donors, in order to provide an optimal environment for educating highly qualified specialists and to maintain its international reputation as a leading technical school.

This campus of ETH does not only strengthen the knowledge hub Zurich, but also Switzerland as a location for research and education. The ETH intends in the coming years for its location on the Hoenggerberg to develop its education and research facilities as well as continue to create a dynamic city quarter with an attractive environment in which people live and interact.
